Lydia of Thyatira by Sarah Beth Baca

As we look forward to beginning again ‘after the pandemic’, I thought I might share four scenes of the first beginning of the Church. This morning, the story of the first Christian on the shores of Europe, Lydia of Philippi (Acts 16).

The music of our worship will include a metrical psalm of old ‘Oh come and sing unto the Lord’, a song that many of us were first introduced to at youth group or camp ’Seek ye first the kingdom of God’, and a prayer set to music ‘May the mind of Christ our Saviour live in me from day to day’.

We will conclude the hour by celebrating the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper, so you are invited to prepare some bread and a cup as the service begins.

We invite you to join us in prayer and praise by live-stream at https://youtu.be/YU0DVdMwj3w. Organ preludes will begin around 10:25 a.m. and the service will commence at 10:30 a.m. Previous services can be found on the St. Andrew’s Youtube channel at https://www.youtube.com/c/StAndrewsPresbyterianChurchKingston

Have a look at the Order of Service and hymn lyrics and announcements below – you can print them out if you wish and refer to them as the hour unfolds, or even through the week. We invite you to join us in worship, study and service as you are able.

Immediately after the service, enjoy a time of fellowship with others this morning at 11:45 – a chat with the minister, followed by casual conversation … just like in St. Andrew’s Hall … but now online and open to folks who happen to be out of town (or even country) also!
